Does anyone know if the company is still in business. I've notice toys are severely lacking here in the US at TRU in fact the Animal Planet line is going with a cheaper brand of 1:18 scale figures. I have checked several sites on the net to see if any new products have come out over seas. So far none... I hope the line is not dead but would like to know what is going on.

They appear to still be in business and I think that the new Toys R Us figures appear to be a mix of Chap Mei products with some cheaper quality figures. I did come across their official Facebook page and they were posting images as recent as Yesterday. I reached out to them to see if it actually their official account and what is going on at TRU.

That's good I'll have to check out the fb page. They should be coming out with stuff for Christmas.

2023 now and sort of STILL the same question. i am pretty sure they are still in business but for the life of me i have no idea what they are actually doing. i havent seen any actual product in years now. not since TRU closed and even then for quite awhile it was really only animal planet stuff. none of the mythical sort of stuff i loved by them. all these years later and i am still trying to finish the viking and stone age lines because i never did find any of them here in the U.S.

So, I'm going to recap from where I know, starting around 2020. Product in the U.S. is limited to Soldier Force, Dino Valley and Wild Quest (aquatic stuff) lines. In 2020, Big Lots carried a 6-product Soldier Force and a Dino Valley assortment which was kind of decent. Today, Big Lots carries a much smaller assortment of Soldier Force and none of Dino Valley. Whatever Big Lots carries today is mostly branded under "Play Zone".
Walmart carried and still carries some of their products through their Kids Connection brand, mostly dinosaur and sea adventures and toddlers toys. Notice that Kids Connection have some military stuff that *looks* Chap Mei, but some of it is not.
Family Dollar carried single carded Soldier Force figures. They still do, and last year carried some medium-sized Soldier Force and Dino Valley playsets.
Since last year, Dollar General is carrying smaller playsets for Soldier Force, Dino Valley and Wild Quest.
Sam's Club is carrying large sized Soldier Force playsets for Christmas.
Toys'r'us Canada two years ago used to carry a pretty large selection of Soldier Force, Rescue Force and Animal Planet stuff. The assortment for Soldier Force was reduced after that, and still is.
Unfortunately, that's the state today: very hard to find. Their website lists Family Dollar, Dollar General and H-E-B as official Chap Mei retailers. They are getting new merchandise this year (I can confirm for Dollar General at least). Some Asian websites show a larger selection of Dino Valley, Wild Quest and Pirates toys, but they aren't available in the U.S.
It is unfortunate, I remember things like the Viking, the Knights and all those lines that were so cool, not to mention Space Quest, which was fantastic.
