Hang on to your butts, because Chap Mei has delivered an entire new line of knights, with many repaints AND new sculpts!! But more importantly, for this particular series, that is being distributed by Top Toy in Northern Europe, Chap Mei has really upped their game. Because if there was anything Chap Mei has been somewhat lacking in, it has been the paint quality, with some of the figures getting very minimal paint treatment. Well, not for this line! Chap Mei has delivered some of the best paintjobs ever. They really needed to step it up because this series is meant to be a competitor for the famous Schleich figures, which are all superbly painted. The same goes for other manufacturers Papo and Revell. As you'll see from the pictures, the packaging is really meant to emulate those types of figure lines. I came upon a figure by accident on Ebay and managed to win the auction and have it shipped to me from Germany. It's a very striking repaint of Orcus, the electronic version that was available in Medieval Kingdom. See for yourself! Having the figure in hand now, I can safely tell you this is NOT a bootleg. It's properly marked Chap Mei, so it's official product! Of course that raised the question: If there is one amazing new repaint, are there more in this series?? There IS, and I found the catalog shots!

Here is a catalog shot of the figure I have right now, a glorious repaint of Orcus the Wizard count in his electronic Medieval Kingdom version. His new name: Severin the Sorcerer!Note the painted weapons and the arms and legs that are also painted, unlike the Medieval Kingdom version. The head lights up here as well.

Here is another very familiar face to fans of Medieval Kingdom, one of the new troopbuilders with no articulation, Rhinomorp! This time, the paint job is WAY better, and also includes a repainted Legend of Knights weapon. His new name: Slucius Demogroth! In this loose shot you can really see the details.

Of course having released Rhinomorp, Minotaurus from Medieval Kingdom can't be far behind. And yes, this figure also makes an appearance in the new knights series. Here he is boxed: His new name: Shentin the Mighty!Of course the figure still won't be able to hold any other weapons than the axe.

Here is a brand new version of Medieval Kingdom's Lord Draco, and you can really see the difference here. Here's what happens when the plastic is no longer kept a plain unpainted black, but actually painted chrome with weathering to boot. And of course, familiar weapons and a new shield!! His new name: Mordred!

Here is a familiar face returning from the very first Legend of Knights series, where the figure appeared as Prince Rupert. For some reason I couldn't find a catalog shot for the figure boxed, but I have his loose shot. His new name: Bardas Verinus!I also love these new shields, all painted up with the corresponding chest heraldry!!

Here is another knight that should look familiar if you've chased after Medieval Kingdom like I have: This sculpt used to be Knight Xavier. This is a fantastic repaint! His new name: Heinrich Zeger!

From the very first Legend of Knights series, the knight Magnus figure also makes a return in this new knights line, this time painted up in chrome and given a new cape! His new name: Shukra the Mercenary!I love what they've done with this figure and the new style, I must have them all ;D

This sculpt used to be for Knight Phyrrus from Medieval Kingdom, but in this new series, the paint job is not only way better, but the figure also has a new head, as well! Definitely Scottish heraldry! His new name: Sir Angus Moor!Well, if that isn't Scottish, I don't know what is. ;D

This figure looks to be an entirely new sculpt! It's clearly Chap Mei though, and the fact that this figure is not only in the new series but comes with easily recognisable Chap Mei weapons is a dead giveaway. New knights are coming! Meet Sir Vincent Fletcher!

If you didn't mind figures that had zero points of articulation, this was a fantastic figure. From Legend of Knights, this archer is back for a repaint, and a very nice one at that. I want three! His new name: Robert Keeneye!

Here are two more repaints I spotted of the new knight sculpt that Chap Mei has put out, done in even better colours than the last one. Enjoy these pics of Hospitaller William and Hospitaller Mikael!Just look at those decos! If this is Chap Mei's new standard, I'm very impressed!!

What's even more fantastic is that it's not just single figures being released in this new and improved style, not by a long shot! Also back for another round in the toy aisles is Chap Mei's fabulous catapult! It's back, and although it doesn't get a full on royal treatment, at least the heraldy is new!

No saddle this time, but Chap Mei's all time favorite electronic dragon is back, this time repainted in suave black scales and bright red menacing wings!! The new name for this mythical creature is Gaweda the Fire Dragon!A fantastic repaint, if I do say so myself.

Now this repaint REALLY improves over the original version by a mile and a half!! I'm VERY excited about seeing the famous Arcturus from Legend of Knights back, and painted with such care! It really shows off the sculpt, now! And what a difference it makes. The new name for this fantastic dragon is Scilla, the Jade Dragon! This is definitely going high up on my list. Santa, how about that present?
