So far I have been able to obtain the elves with the griffins and the orc 4-pack. I plan on getting the other two sets. All I can say is "Wow". That about sums it up!

The nearest Toys R Us store is quite a jaunt for me(2 hour round-trip). I went there today expecting them to have the elf 4-pack and the Orc set with the two-headed dogs. When I inquired about them they said they didn't know if or when they might get more in as they seemed to be a pretty popular item. I got home and ordered them off their website because it seems like once Chap Mei stuff is gone, it's gone. It is isn't like collecting more "mainstream" items from higher profile name brand companies. And once you're at the mercy of the secondary market for Chap Mei items, they become out of my price range more times than not.

Oh, and one more thing, and for this I'm quite willing to beg, grovel and whine: PLEASE make a female elf warrior!! We have this amazing fantasy world at our fingertips in glorious 3 3/4 inch scale and there is no female warrior or princess or pretty much anything. I would really like it if this set had one! I couldn't agree with you more! FEMALE ELF!!

These are my own shots of the best Elf and his Griffin steed that I did for my spotlight thread on actionfiguresca.proboards.com , and they should definitely be posted here too!!

Nice photos. If you don't mind sharing, where did you get the background?

I'm really hoping that they add the winged lion to this line, that would be awesome indeed.

Nice photos. If you don't mind sharing, where did you get the background? It's custom. I cannibalize books on scenery and history that I get from thrift shops and make diorama's out of the prints. This is actually a two page spread that I've joined up again. If you look *really* closely you can still see the seam. ;D

I'm really hoping that they add the winged lion to this line, that would be awesome indeed. The Winged Lion (or Atrox, as I call it) would be a good inclusion in the Heroes of Olympus line too, now that I think on it. This is an older shot. I should make a new one.

Those wings look like they could be attached to Arthur's steed and bingo, we have ourselves a Pegasus.

Those wings look like they could be attached to Arthur's steed and bingo, we have ourselves a Pegasus. That's possible, as we all know that lion from Wild Quest and know the saddle's a loose piece. I'm not sure if the mold is large enough, though. What I WOULD like to see is one of the horse sculpts that were used in the Wild West line - those sculpts were awesome!!

I didn't see these posted anywhere and wanted to alert people to some random variant figures I spotted: Red Orks in the Raiding Party four pack. Odd, right?

Nice find! I wish there were some pics, of course. The TRUE Legends answer to Smaug?! I got that Orc 4-pack at my (semi) local TRU last week. Pretty cool group. I've got them set up behinf my Bladekiller and Slime figs on my desk at work. ;-)

So, I went online and found that the Deluxe Ancient Dragon, while not pictured on the TRU site yet, was available at my local TRU! I went down after work, and found not only one, but three pretty awesome NEW surprises! First, allow me to present - Darkfire! Check out the back! What's that, you ask?! Who might those two beasts be? Tree Warrior! Battle Troll! Both of them were at the store, but sadly, I only had enough to pick up Darkfire. And what a monster! Nine points of articulation, including his wings! The head turns at the top and base of the neck. The mouth loads a fireball missile, and when you press the discretely hidden button disguised as a horn on his neck, the missile fires, the eyes light up, and the sound of great wings flapping, followed by a roar, emanate from him. Very cool! I've got him open, and I'll take more pics of him in action soon, and post them up here and on my Flickr page. Seriously, a nice surprise today! Now, I've looked all over, but I can't find any real indication that these are, indeed, Chap Mei, save the awesome detail and tell-tale sounds and action features. Anyone have any idea if these are re-used sculpts? Did TRU buy Chap Mei and their entire branding? Whatever the case, these bad-boys seem to carry on the distinct Chap Mei tradition, and fit right in. I'd love to know more, though. Some research is in order for sure. Did I mention the TRANSLUCENT WINGS? Now I did. ;-)
