Hallo! I was recommended in the Chapmeitoys forum to write also here. I am rewritting my message back there: Being ChapMei such a mysterious and obscure brand, as a collector I truly feel the most we know about it, the better. So for some months back I have been very interested on putting some order on the ChapMei info avaiable, in order to write a TIMELINE of its releases. On my research for data I found this site which happens to be the most trustable source and understandably also very interested on such kind of database, but seems the database never was finished and the data itself also needs some kind of order. If I can help you somehow, people, I'd like sharing my research with any of the admins here (or whoever is the person most interested in such a study) to compare and share the data (surely there are some incorrect things in my research) and also (luckily) adding and complete to what you already know. My research tries to cover all action-figure lines from the beginning to 2014. I have been able to date many of them, with only a few exceptions I was unable to find info about. By now I have some very specific doubts and questions which I am hoping we could solve together. Please let me know who of you people is willing to co-work with me on correcting and pulishing this little project, so hopefully we can publish this asap here in this forum and make us all wiser. Best wishes.

For a while, it seemed like Chap Mei was the best kept secret in action figures. I think its profile has been raised in the past 8 years or so. I feel like a comprehensive history of the company's releases is sorely needed, which does add to the mystery of this company somewhat. It has a few lines and items that to the best of my knowledge never made it to the US via regular retail. I hope someone takes you up on your request to pool knowledge of this company so we could all know what was released and where and when.

I've heard that Chap Mei originated in Hong Kong in 1971.
