Yeti Playset
Location Toys R Us
Price $21.99
Like its North American cousin the Big Foot the Yeti is a giant ape like creature from Asia namely the Himalayas. While these creatures may or may not exist today there have been fossils and teeth of giant primates in caverns of a creature called Gigantopithecus so in actuality a creature like Bigfoot and Yeti did exist in history. The set includes mostly new pieces first is the ski mobile. The ski mobile I don't recall ever showing up in any Chap Mei set it seats one and the steering bar turns. Its a good size vehicle to store in larger transport vehicles. The figure included is from the Ice Quest line from the early 2000s. It is a sought after figure very hard to find now and is one of my favorite Chap Mei figures. While the one original is wearing a yellow uniform I do like the blue. The figure includes some equipment probably useless against a Yeti, there is a stick, torch, pistol and club. The is also a nice diorama piece a ice cavern for the human to hide in. There are several holes doting the cave and hooks while most pieces like this have holes to secure the piece with twist ties in the package this piece has way more holes then what it was used to secure it. I wonder if this was part of a bigger set or had pieces that were not included with the set for cost. You can plug the weapons into the holes around it. Finally we come to the Yeti. Measuring almost twice as tall as a regular 3 3/4" human the Yeti is a little shorter the Bigfoot. The Yeti has mobility in the waist, arms, hands and feet. The right arm is spring loaded and can toss the four ice cubes that comes with it. Reminds me of the 1993 Mega Marines Monstro-Viper. The Yeti also has a ice club to pound its nosy victims who get to close. This set and the Bigfoot are hot selling items if you are a Yeti fan or Collector of 3 3/4" adventure figures pick this one up. You won't be disappointed.
