Today I found the Hydra and the Ancient War Ship at my local TRU. The Hydra is Kronox but without the saddle and no lights/sound FX. Otherwise it's the same awesome sculpt and details, same paint job. So this means that everyone who couldn't find Kronox should be able to get him finally.

Wow, those look awesome! Can I ask which TRU you saw these at? I'm hoping my local TRU will get these in...

These are absolutely amazing. I just got back , and I wander right into this. A big thanks to Warduke for the posts! Looks like Chap Mei did it again! I'm amazed by the figures, especially Perseus and Hercules look just barbarian enough to fit right in with Thunderthor. And of course that ship - Obviously built upon the base of the Drakkar longboat we all know and love, but updated to match the new theme. This is what Chap Mei does best, recycling the various component from different lines into new ones. Of course Kronox as a Hydra is a total no brainer, and I'm very happy that US fans will now be able to get it without too much trouble, even if it's without the rider compartment and the light/sound feature. That sculpt alone is worth the price of admission! My mind is reeling with possibilities. Just like with the Elves and Orcs, seeing this product here almost begs for more to be added to the series. Of course the cave troll comes to mind, but the griffin and minotaur from Medieval Kingdom fit in effortlessly too. And there's a very good repaint of that minotaur already produced and ready to go: Just liek with the other line, I cannot express how happy I am with this new True Legends avenue and how much I want to see these lines fleshed out under Chap Mei's own brand name.

I've been extra excited about these since the pictures hit! It would be greatly appreciated if anyone could tell me whether or not they are a common sight at TRU in the states as I'm planning to head there this weekend.

I'm not from the States myself but I've heard some collectors have seen them and they are in stock at the TRU website.

Thanks, Ghouldrool! I got ALL of them yesterday. Only had time to crack open the 4 pack this morning but its clear these are a 10 out of 10. I've waited for toys like these ever since I saw Sinbad, Jason and the Argonauts and of course, Clash of the Titans 1981. Chap Mei has managed to combine children's playability with Ray Harryhausen (!) with modern greek fantasy (God of War video game). Beyond cool.

Excellent, you got them. I'm getting a fourpack from a trade friend from the States. Most likely followed by a glowing review, too.
I'd definitely be interested in a second fourpack to be added to this line very, very soon. They could include the above minotaur of course but I'd also definitely would want Chap Mei to try their hands on more gods. Especially a female one like Athena would be awesome. Typically Chap Mei lines have between six and eight different figures, right??
We can hope!

Absolutely. The minotaur is a no brainer. I would lose it (in a good way) even more if they added some argonaut-spartan esque warriors with greek helmets and shields. They could re-use the Perseus mold with a different head! Athena? Awesome. Hmmmm... what about some skeletons too? ; )

I too want them to add to this line! Andromeda!(any female really) Calibos! Poseidon! I have not seen these at my local TRU yet but they do have the Elves/Orcs & L.A.S.E.R. stuff which I of course nabbed and will check back again soon to see if this line has showed up yet! Can't wait!
